About
Everyone has a story to their career, and whilst mine is still young, here's a look at how I've ended up here.
I started my journey into music journalism at the University of Nottingham. Joining University Radio Nottingham and The Mic Magazine - the UK's largest student music mag - gave me a vision into a career I'd never thought possible, and I launched myself into that path.
Within a year I'd started running my own weekly radio show called Mashup, with guests every week and a huge variety of music played from the local scene, the UK underground, and big international acts. I also was elected Head of The Mic, and managed to put out the first ever print edition of the magazine focussed on more heavy and alternative music.
I was a part of two bands at the same time, playing plenty of shows and recording music, and also ran weekly shows for the university bar Mooch - acting as the sole booking agent and promoter for over a year and a half to platform acts from the university and the city, small UK touring acts, and even a couple of larger international acts. The event showed off rock, metal, flamenco, acoustic singer/songwriters, post-punk, chamber pop, jazz, blues, opera, classical, hip-hop and more, to show off the huge span of styles practiced in the nearby area and examples from further afield.
In the summer of 2023, a friend and I came up with an idea and within a few months had started a whole music magazine called Out Of Rage, which is still going incredibly strong today and is something I'm incredibly proud to have done. I worked as co-Managing Director and New Music Editor until early 2026, helping shape the editorial direction of the magazine and taking huge pride in getting a number of young writers started on their journalism journey.
Towards the end of my time at university, I joined TotalRock Radio and, whilst presenting a weekly show there, helped them start their spinoff brand WE ARE TRXSH at Download 2024, before starting to write for Kerrang! Magazine a year later at RADAR Festival 2025. Since then I've kept up at Out Of Rage and NOIZZE, and written even more for Kerrang as a member of their team, including interviews and print articles.
